Nelson Circuit Court indictments — April 6, 2011

Editor’s Note: The indictment of a person by a grand jury or otherwise is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. They are set for arraignment in Nelson Circuit Court on April 21, 2011 unless otherwise indicated.

11-CR-096. Randall B. Slone, 63, Bardstown. Second-degree arson and complicity to same; burning personal property to defraud insurer. According to the indictment, on or about Feb. 21, 2011, Slone, acting alone or in concert with Stephen L. Beam Jr., allegedly started a fire with the intent of destroying or damaging a 2007 Toyota Tacoma truck in order to defraud the truck’s insurer, Triple AA Insurance Co. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-098. Stephen L. Beam, 22, Boston. Second-degree arson and complicity to same. According to the indictment, on or about Feb. 21, 2011, Beam, acting alone or in concert with Randall B. Slone, allegedly started a fire with the intent of destroying or damaging a 2007 Toyota Tacoma truck. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-097. Joseph Garrett Dugan, 24, Bardstown, first-degree trafficking in controlled substances (2 counts). According to the indictment, on or about Dec. 21, 2011 and Dec. 30, 2011, Dugan allegedly sold cocaine to a confidential informant. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-99. Brandy Frances Shofner, 31, Bardtown. First-degree possession of controlled substance; second-degree possession of controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; first-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, on or about March 5, 2011, Shofner allegedly was in the possession of methamphetamine, Lortab and drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-100. Kabrem D. Montgomery, 25, Bardstown. First-degree possession of controlled substance; possession of marijuana; public intoxication; first-degree persistent felony offender. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-101. Angela Liston, 33, Bardstown. Theft by unlawful taking over $500 but less than $10,000; second-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, between Jan 1, 2010 and Jan. 31, 2011, Liston allegedly took $2,313.95 in cash from Two Guys Printing. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-102. John V. Cahoe II, 34, Bardstown. First-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument. Bail was set at $2,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-104. Kristen Al-Akil, 29, Boston. Welfare fraud over $100. According to the indictment, from May 1, 2009 through Aug. 31, 2010, Al-Akil allegedly failed to advise the Dept. for Community Based Services of her correct household circumstances and received $9,103 in food stamp benefits to which she was not legally entitled. Bail was set at $9,500 – 10 percent plus conditions.

11-CR-105. Joshua Taylor, 18, Bardstown. Third-degree burglary and complicity to same; theft by unlawful taking over $500 and complicity to same. According to the indictment, on or about March 7, 2011, Taylor, acting alone or in concert with Robert Dillon Rowlett and a juvenile; allegedly broke into the former Nelson County Schools central office building at 1200 Cardinal Drive and took copper tubing and copper fittings having a value of more than $500. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-107. Robert Dillion Rowlett, 18, New Haven, third-degree burglary and complicity to same; theft by unlawful taking over $500 and complicity to same. According to the indictment, on or about March 7, 2011, Rowlett, acting alone or in concert with Joshua Taylor and a juvenile; allegedly broke into the former Nelson County Schools central office building at 1200 Cardinal Drive and took copper tubing and copper fittings having a value of more than $500. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-106, 11-CR-108. Brian Middleton, 27, Bloomfield, second-degree burglary and complicity to same; theft by unlawful taking and complicity to same; first-degree criminal mischief and complicity to same. According to the indictment, between April 2-3, 2010, Middleton, acting alone or in concert with Christie Anderson, allegedly broke into a residence and took several electronic items having a value of $500 or more but less than $10,000 and damaged property in the residence valued at $1,000 or more. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only plus conditions.

Middleton was also charged with second-degree burglary and theft by unlawful taking for allegedly breaking into a second residence and taking jewelry and other household goods valued at more than $500 but less than $10,000. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-110. Christie Anderson, 27, Boston, second-degree burglary and complicity to same; theft by unlawful taking and complicity to same; first-degree criminal mischief and complicity to same. According to the indictment, between April 2-3, 2010, Anderson, acting alone or in concert with Brian Middleton, allegedly broke into a residence and took several electronic items having a value of $500 or more but less than $10,000 and damaged property in the residence or more. Bail was same as District Court plus conditions.

11-CR-109. Michael Tyrone Greathouse Jr., 18, Bardstown. Second-degree burglary; theft by unlawful taking. According to the indictment, on Jan. 26, 2011, Greathouse allegedly entered a residence and two flat screen televisions and a cable modem having a value of $500 or more but less than $10,000. Bail was set at $25,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-111. Jason R. Stansbury, 29, Bardstown, first-degree trafficking in controlled substances; tampering with physical evidence; disregarding stop sign; first-degree persistent felony offender. According to the indictment, on Feb. 11, 2011, Stansbury allegedly possessed cocaine with the intent of selling or transferring it. When a police officer approached his car, Stansbury allegedly threw a roach of marijuana out the car window. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-112. Charles W. Blaine III, 27, Bardstown. First-degree possession of controlled substance; tampering with physical evidence; third-degree possession of controlled substance; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs; failure to give turn signal. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-113. David A. Long, 36, Chaplin, first-degree fleeing and evading police (on foot); fourth-degree assault; third-degree escape; third-degree criminal mischief. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-114. Michael Ossweld, 40, Bardstown. Forgery of a prescription for a controlled substance. Bail was set as same as District Court plus conditions.

11-CR-115. Shannon Brown, 30, Bardstown. Welfare fraud (over $100), two counts. According to the indictment, between January 2006 and March 2007, Brown allegedly failed to advice the Department for Community Based Services of her correct household composition and received $4,042 in food stamp benefits to which she was not legally entitled. The indictment also states that between March 2007 and June 2007, Brown allegedly failed to advise the Department for Community Based Services of her correct household composition and received $3,162.68 in food stamp benefits to which she was not legally entitled. Bail was set at $9,500 – 10 percent plus conditions.

11-CR-116. Anthony Reyes, 41, Matthews, N.C. Flagrant non-support. According to the indictment, between Oct. 27, 1992 through Feb. 28, 2011, Reyes allegedly failed to provide support resulting in an arrearage of $29.577.03. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-117. Constance H. Hulce, 41, Bardstown, flagrant non-support. According to the indictment, between June 1, 2009 through Feb. 28, 2011, Hulce allegedly failed to provide support resulting in an arrearage of $5,964.56. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.
