Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, 9:18 p.m. -- The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to a report of sparking power lines and a possible tree on fire on Old Bloomfield Road across from Ellis Wrecker Service.

Bardstown Fire Department responds to fire alarm at AG
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 11:18 p.m. -- The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to an active fire alarm at American Greetings, 800 American Drive. A firefigher reports that there is no power at the plant. Firefighters determine a alarm was triggered by an automatic pump that came on when the power was cut going to the building.

Rolling Fork fire called to reported tree down on mobile home
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 10:55 p.m. -- The Rolling Fork Fire Department is responding to the area of 50 Nelsonville Lane for a report of a tree that has fallen on a mobile home. The occupants in the mobile home are reportedly trapped inside.

Bardstown Fire responds to call on sparking power lines
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 10:44 p.m. -- The Bardstown Fire Department is the 4200 block of Francis Drive for sparking power lines.

Northeast Nelson Fire Department asks firefighters to respond on standby
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 9:18 p.m. -- The Northeast Nelson Fire Department has paged its firefighters to respond to Station 1 for standby duty during the winter storm.

Power is out throughout downtown Bardstown
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 8:48 p.m. -- A deputy sheriff reports the power is out through downtown Bardstown along North Third Street. Nelson County Dispatch is requesting city police cruisers to cover the entire town to determine power outages. Power is out in wide areas of the county.

American Red Cross opens shelter at Bardstown Middle School
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 8:48 p.m. -- The American Red Cross is opening a shelter at the Bardstown Middle School. A nurse from the health department is being dispatched to stay at the shelter overnight.

Limb blocking US150 at Bardstown Auto Wreckers
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 8:36 p.m. -- A deputy sheriff is requesting a state road crew come help remove a limb that is blocking one lane of US150 in the curve in front of Bardstown Auto Wreckers. "If somebody could bring me a chainsaw we could get this open," he told dispatchers. "Traffic is going in the opposite lane in the curve and somebody's going to get hit."

Transformer fire near the M&M Market in Balltown
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 8:21 p.m. -- The Rolling Fork Fire Department is responding to the area of Culver's Store in Culvertown for a reported transformer on fire.

Fire alarm at the Nelson County Jail
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 8:15 p.m. -- The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to the Nelson County Jail for an active fire alarm. The jail called to cancel the fire department, firefighters will continue to verify.

Tree limb down on New Haven Road
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 8:00 p.m. -- A Kentucky State Police trooper is standing by with a large tree limb that is down blocking part of New Haven Road south of Southern States on the south edge of Bardstown.

Transformer fire reported on Kurtz Avenue on Maple Hill
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 7:24 p.m. -- The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to the area of 818 Kurtz Street for a reported transformer fire. Firefighters find a power line down at the rear of the home, and a fire began on the back porch. A tree limb pulled the service line down, and the fire is the insulation burning on the wires. The fire department is waiting for the utility crews to kill power to the home. There is still some fire on the pole. Firefighters found a small area burning in the home's attic and extinguished the fire.

Fire alarm at Taco Bell on KY 245
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 7:24 p.m. -- The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to the area of the Taco Bell on KY 245 for a fire. A restaurant employee believes there may be a fire in an air handler unit on the roof of the building. Firefighters find a locked-up motor in an air handler.

Transformer fire near the M&M Market in Balltown
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 7:24 p.m. -- The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to the area of the M&M Minit Mart in Balltown for a transformer fire.

Active alarm at Bardstown Primary School
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 7 p.m. -- The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to The Bardstown Primary School for an active fire alarm. Apparently the alarm malfunctioned, and dispatch was advised to ignore fire alarms from the site until the alarm is serviced.

Hwy 52 open again at Boston
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 7:23 p.m. -- A Nelson County deputy sheriff reports that Hwy 52 is open again in Boston. It had been blocked by trees brought down by heavy ice.

Transformer fire, power at 109 Windsor Avenue
Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009, 7:22 p.m. -- The Bardstown Fire Department is responding to 109 Windsor Avenue for a transformer that has exploded and a tree that is on fire
