Who's in your candidate's wallet? You might be surprised

Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, 12:30 a.m. -- As the General Election edges closer, the Nelson County Gazette has examined Federal Election Commission records to determine which presidential candidate has received the greatest financial support -- and just who in Nelson County donated cash to their favorite candidate(s).

Sen. Barack Obama received more than four times the amount of cash from Nelson Countians that Sen. John McCain received through Oct. 22nd. According to FEC records, Obama received 43 donations totaling $10,520 to McCain's $2,202 received from 11 donors. All of the presidential candidates who have recorded donations from Nelson County residents are shown below; those with no local donors were omitted.
