Monday,
March 3, 2008, 10:30 p.m. -- Buses bringing the Nelson
County Cards basketball team back from the opening game of
the 5th Region tournament in Radcliff tonight received a police
escort from two Nelson County deputy sheriffs -- though the
team's on-court performance wasn't what the officers were
investigating.
Nelson
County Dispatch received a call from the Radcliff police about
a complaint that a Nelson County bus had caused damage there,
presumably to a vehicle in the parking lot. According to Radcliff
police, the bus they were looking for should have obvious
damage to the front bumper, including scratches and scrapes
of silver paint from the other vehicle.
Two
deputies were dispatched to intercept the buses and determine
if either of the buses were involved in a fender bender. The
complainant in Radcliff seemed certain one of the Nelson County
buses were involved.
Radcliff
police had already contacted Nelson County High School assistant
principal Mike Glass about the incident.
After
the inspection, the deputies gave their report to the dispatcher:
There was no sign of damage, scratches or silver paint on
the bumpers of either bus. It is unknown if the buses from
other tournament schools were similarly inspected. The tournament
is hosted by North Hardin High School, and featured schools
tonight from Elizabethtown, Nelson County, Green County and
Adair County.
