Man injured in warehouse fall at Beam's Boston plant

Monday, June 25, 2007, 3 p.m. -- A man was seriously injured about 1:30 Monday afternoon in a fall inside a bourbon warehouse at the Jim Beam Brands Booker Noe Distillery at Boston.

The 35-year-old man apparently fell from the elevator inside Warehouse W at the Boston facility. The man fell approximately 50 feet, striking a metal beam as he fell. The man suffered a broken femur and numerous bruises among his injuries.

Nelson County EMS and the Boston Fire Department responded to the scene. The victim was transported by Stat Care helicopter to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment.

All emergency responders left the scene about 2:20 p.m.
